The Dun Cow is a pub and restaurant which can be found on Purdy Street, Salthouse, Norfolk. The Dun Cow is beautifully positioned enjoying the stunning scenery of the North Norfolk coastline and countryside. The Dun Cow is tastefully decorated, simple and stylish. The interior is inviting with both indoor and outdoor tables enjoying far reaching countryside views.
The menu is seasonal and changing, with many dishes made using locally sourced ingredients. You may wish to kick things off with their special Brancaster oysters served with a shallot vinaigrette and an optional Manzanilla sherry. Smaller plates also include lightly curried king prawn chowder, and crispy fried crab and cod bon bons served with chilli, garlic and mayonnaise. Sides include fresh Norfolk asparagus and a warm salad of fine beans and feta.
Other tempting-looking dishes may include lightly grilled smokehouse salmon served with sweet mustard dressing and caperberries, and local red pol beef fillet carpaccio served with celeriac remoulade, parmesan and truffle oil.
You will also discover plenty of larger plates and British favourites on the menu such as battered haddock and chips, homemade beef burger and a special Dun Cow fish pie served with spring greens and creamy parmesan mash.
When it comes to desserts you will find many tempting-looking dishes such as Pimm’s and lemonade jelly served with ice cream, and an indulgent sticky toffee pudding served with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream.
There is also a children’s menu serving fish and chips, minute steak and pasta.
The Dun Cow also enjoys a secret garden, which is for adults only to enjoy the beautiful Norfolk countryside views from this idyllic rural setting. Outdoor seating cannot be booked.
