Situated on the ground floor of the Old Dean Clarke Hospital’s Halford Wing, The Cosy Club seeks to give a luxury experience at a cost-effective price. With an extravagant dining room, with chandeliers drooping from the ceiling and rich olive green walls, The Cosy Club emanates lavishness.
The menu, although simple, is a collection of classic dishes from across the globe such as Thai green curry topped with coconut and sweet chilli and traditional British fish and chips with minty green mushy peas. However, the Cosy Club also shows a level of inventiveness in its meals, particularly with its vegetarian options such as the Moroccan spiced aubergine with giant couscous that adds a refreshing level of nuance to the menu.
The Cosy Club also offers a brunch menu with a collection of cooked breakfasts featuring the usual trappings of a full English but with some luxury upgrades such as sourdough toast. Additionally, there are plant-based options such as Shakshuka which offers baked beans in a lightly spiced onion and tomato sauce with sourdough toast.
The Cosy Club also has a range of cocktails for diners to enjoy, with both long, fruity Bloody Marys and Passionfruit Mojitos to short stronger Espresso Martinis, blended with Cosy Club’s own brand of coffee syrup shaken with vodka which guarantees to ‘put a spring in your step’.
As well as just cocktails, the Cosy Club offers a wide variety of wine from crisp whites such as Albarino, Lola Tree to sweet reds such as Cotes Du Rhones. For something lighter, the Cosy Club also offers a range of beers and mocktails including the Espresso Martini which gives diners the creamy, rich flavours of the Espresso Martini without the hearty punch of vodka.
With a simple but nuanced menu and a range of drinks available, The Cosy Club Exeter is the perfect place for either a quiet date or celebration.
