Nestled away in the heart of Mayfair, The Connaught Patisserie is a charming and casual space tacked onto the side of the luxurious Connaught Hotel, with customers able to enter via Mount Street. Open every day until 6pm (5pm on weekends), the patisserie serves a selection of homemade sweet and savoury treats, which guests can either takeaway or enjoy inside if they have a bit more time to spare.
The dusty pink interiors of The Connaught Patisserie have been brought to life by Ab Rogers Design and the space is clearly conscious of the social media age, but without feeling gimmicky or too in-your-face. Instead, pink sandstone is layered upon textured wood, polished mirrors bounce natural light around the room and gorgeous pink-hued glass lights hang above the centrepiece of pistachio-ripplied Bianco Fantastico marble.
As for The Connaught Patisserie’s menu, expect an array of goodies to take you through from first thing in the morning to late afternoon, while you can always opt to bring some of the cakes and pastries home with you for a post-supper snack. From the savoury side of things, you can order the likes of a croissant filled with egg mayonnaise or a smoked salmon Paris-brest with sour cream. Those with a sweet tooth have plenty more to indulge in though - think the likes of apple tatin, chestnut Mont Blanc and chocolate and Tonka tart.
Perhaps the most famous dish from the patisserie is the Connaughty Hound, a reimagining of The Connaught hound which graces the hotel’s emblem, which sees it transformed into a show-stopping chocolate hazelnut cake. Something else unique to The Connaught Patisserie is the chocolate nemesis on its menu, delivered daily from River Cafe and the only place you can find it outside of the world-famous restaurant. For extra luxury, enjoy a slice alongside a glass of Champagne.
