This local village pub in a pretty village within staggering distance of a walk along the river Ouse has plenty going for it. Head to the bar if you're thirsty and not intending to eat and here you’ll find a bubble of like-minded folk nattering (or not) over a pint of two of ale or cider. If you intend to take advantage of the very decent kitchen, it’s wise to book for the dining room. Here the same drinks are available, alongside an interesting Languedoc-led wine list, but the atmosphere’s definitely culinary. Tuck into speciality house-made sausages, lamb rum with pink fir apple potatoes and samphire, or check the fish board for the day’s aquatic specials.
