About

Serving London’s LGBT community since the 1930s, The Quebec sails majestically on at a time when other, more cruisy, gay bars are sinking without trace – torpedoed by Gaydar and Grindr. A late-2015 six-figure refurb, courtesy of owners Greene King, has dragged the decor out of its 1970s-style stasis, to the clear delight of loyal punters who crowd in to cheer exotic drag queens such as Lola Lasagne, Vanity Von Glow and Baga Chipz (MBE) performing on stage. Order fairly priced wines, sub-£50 Bollinger, and Kir Royale or Dainty Damsel (a Sipsmith damson vodka Bellini) from a range of £7 cocktails. Alternatively, butch it up with Timothy Taylor Landlord, Greene King IPA or Peroni on draught. You can also snack on the likes of club sandwiches, aubergine Korean curry or nachos. At weekends, well-seasoned disco devotees come to Shake Your Groove Thing until 3am in the basement.
