Saltmoore is a new wellness-led hotel project on the former site of Raithwaite Sandsend in Whitby that includes a food and beverage operation overseen by Adam Maddock, the former head chef at the Fife Arms in Braemar. The project is comprised of four different restaurant sites, three bars, cottages and two hotels set among pristine country gardens and a fruit orchard. The first two restaurants, called The Brasserie and The Wellness Cafe, are set to open in September 2024 alongside the rest of the project.
In the restaurants expect sophisticated and elegant interiors inspired by Saltmoore’s location nestled between the moors and North Sea coastline. These landscapes have inspired the soft blue and green colour palettes of the venue that provide a calm and peaceful atmosphere for guests. This ambiance reflects this new venture’s dedicated focus to a guest experience focuses on well-being and finding a space of sanctuary.
Saltmoore’s restaurants, bars and cafes are overseen by Adam Maddock who has more than the necessary credentials for the task at hand. He has previously worked at hotels such as Whatley Manor, The Manor House in Wiltshire, Michelin-starred The Whitebrook in Wales and most recently The Fife Arms in Braemar. If Adam’s previous work is anything to go by expect seasonal dishes that celebrate and showcase the produce of the local area. These will be present throughout all aspects of the hotel’s food and beverage offering, including the all-important hotel breakfast. Adam will work with the help of a soon to be revealed consultant chef who will work alongside Adam to manage this multi-faceted operation.
In this exceptional new hotel and restaurant complex the dining experiences and environments on offer are sure to be a real highlight.
