The Boot, is a warm and welcoming family pub and brasserie situated in the heart of Histon, Cambridge, it makes up part of Raymond Blanc’s White Brasserie Company group.
The pub area of The Boot enjoys cosy seating, a bar, open fires and a snug area, whilst the oak beamed newly built extension is home to the brasserie. There is also an outdoor seating area with bench style tables, parasols and gazebo which has been dotted with festoon lighting and pretty pastel bunting. The Boot has combined a menu of British pub favourites and French classics, to create a delicious sounding, varied menu serving seasonal la carte dishes, alongside a children’s menu and Sunday lunch.
The seasonal a la carte menu features dishes such as the much-loved cheese souffle starter, which is served with Wyke farm cheddar, or perhaps you would prefer to go for the potted Cornish crab served with avocado guacamole, prawn butter and sourdough toast. You will also find a selection of nibbles such as olives and breads, which could perhaps be accompanied by a glass of fizz.
Main courses include many pub favourites such as a St. Austell beef and ale pie, and a slow cooked boeuf bourguignon, served with smooth mashed potato. You will also find lighter dishes such as pan-fried stone bass served with butterbeans and chorizo, and a pea and broad bean salad served with deep-fried goats cheese.
When it comes to dessert you will find plenty of tempting-sounding dishes and comforting classics such as sticky toffee pudding served with crème fraiche, and poached Yorkshire rhubarb crumble served with ice cream. There is also a cheese selection, and an after-dinner drinks menu which features fresh coffee served with a trio of truffles, as well as cocktails, hot chocolate, and soft drinks.
