In 2014, eldest Brill daughter Katy returned to the family farm after working as a private chef for several years. She had hatched the idea of opening a pop-up café in a Mongolian yurt on the farm for the summer months- and on 6th June 2014 the Wild Strawberry Café opened its doors for the first time. The yurt quickly gained a reputation for quirky, pretty surroundings and great food, all homemade using only the best local and seasonal ingredients. Far more popular than anyone ever imagined, the ‘pop-up’ never really ‘popped down’ and continued as our permanent café for over 7 years- with only a brief pause in the depths of winter, and when it had the occasional argument with a storm (thanks Doris!)
