Found along Bermondsey’s famous ‘beer mile’ - named such because it houses a mile-long stretch of brewery bars and bottle shops under the railway arches - The Arch House is a taproom and brewery that is a shrewd choice for lovers of all things beer.
The Arch House offers 12 delicious beers on tap, ranging from classic sips to rather unique creations, including seasonal specials and one-off collaborations with pop culture figures. Upon arrival, you will spy that the taproom offers a decent amount of outdoor space on its street-facing terrace, ideal for enjoying a freshly brewed cold beer (or two) in the sunshine.
Once inside, you will find an industrial, rustic space which features high ceilings and hanging pendant lighting, as well as a dedicated bar found towards the back of the space. Adding to the atmosphere are beer fridges and brewing equipment, while punters can sit around upstanding beer barrels on high stools, or settle down on one of the communal bench-style tables if they are in a group.
On The Arch House’s beer menu, you can expect to find classic sips under the taprooms ‘core range’, such as pale ale, lager and IPA. Alongside these more traditional brews, The Arch House also offers a range of seasonal specials - think the likes of a Peach Sour, a Sea Salt and Chilli Stout or an Extra Hoppy Bitter. Furthermore, the brewery regularly collaborates with other brands and pop culture figures to create limited-edition beers, having previously teamed up with everyone from Michelin star chefs to heavy metal rock bands.
The Arch House does not serve food on site, however patrons are welcome to bring in street food dishes from the neighbouring Maltby Street Market and Druid Street Food Market - just remember to be respectful and clear up after yourself when done.
