Nestling on the shore of the beautiful Kent Estuary, The Albion boasts stunning views over the water – it’s the perfect spot to unwind and maybe even enjoy a spectacular Cumbrian sunset.
Built over 200 years ago, The Albion was originally a private house owned by a wealthy local businessman but converted into a public house when the death knell sounded for coastal trading.
As you’d expect, we’ve an enviable selection of Cask ales in our well-stocked bar and with a heritage anchored firmly between sea and mountains, we take great pride in the dishes we create too. Our dedicated team make excellent use of wonderful local ingredients found right here on our doorstep – what could be better than a hearty dish of local Cumberland sausage after bagging a few peaks? Or for that old sea-dog in you, locally-caught haddock & chips?
Arnside is located within one of Britain’s smallest Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It really is a quiet haven for anyone wanting to get away from it all, yet it’s surprisingly well connected too – close to the M6 and with good rail links to the busy outside world!
So if you’re passing, please do call in and see us. You’re always guaranteed a warm welcome here at The Albion.
At the Albion you are more than welcome to dine with your four legged friend in the vault bar, but do please be aware that Under 18's are not permitted in the Vault Bar.
