Sussex Pass is a British inspired restaurant and village pub located in the centre of Wadhurst. Sussex Pass is conveniently located within close proximity to Wadhurst Castle, as well as being close to many local shops, cafes and amenities.
The restaurant aims to showcase and support local producers and suppliers from the Sussex and Kent areas, with a menu designed using many local seasonal ingredients, including their Sussex sparkling wine. There is a set lunch menu served daily, as well as an a la carte menu which is available every day except Wednesday. The interior is light and airy, there is also an outdoor seating area for the warmer months.
If you’re visiting Sussex Pass for dinner, the menu changes regularly however an example of the dishes you may find include starters such as crab beignet served with pickled cucumber, salad and tomato salsa, and rolled shin of beef sauteed with wild mushrooms, crown prince puree and pickled shallot. Main courses include dishes such as prosciutto wrapped monkfish served with squash and saffron risotto, and a sweet potato and goats cheese pie served with roast potatoes and seasonal greens.
Other dishes on the menu include a whole lobster served with fries, salad and garlic butter, and Paley Farm sharing porterhouse steak served with homemade chips and seasonal veg.
On Sunday, Sussex Pass is open for a traditional Sunday roast, alongside other dishes. There is also the option to request a Christmas party menu (with prior booking). If you are visiting with younger guests there is also a children’s menu available upon request, and with prior notice the restaurant will also try to accommodate any dietary requirements you may have.
