Located within Newquay's Atlantic Hotel, Silks Bistro and Champagne Bar is an AA Rosette-winning restaurant serving a luxurious food menu in an ultra-chic setting. Focusing on using fresh, locally sourced produce, the kitchen offers a regularly changing selection of exciting dishes. With everything from light lunches and afternoon tea to Sunday roasts and three-course dinners on offer, Silks Bistro is a restaurant that's perfect for a whole host of different occasions.
The restaurant's high ceilings and spread-out tables which are covered with white table cloths give it feel of grandeur, while the many large plants and Champagne-filled ice buckets in all corners only add to the luxurious vibe. On sunny days, there's also the option to dine outside on the restaurant's terrace, which has stunning sea views and brings a slice of the Mediterranean to Newquay.
Silks' main food menu changes depending on the season. You can expect starters such as grilled goats cheese served with pickled watermelon, rocket, pine nuts and basil oil, and a cauliflower fritter with onion bhaji, cucumber pickle and cauliflower puree. Sharing plates on offer might include a platter of smoked Cornish fish, all of which has been locally landed and delivered fresh in the morning. When it comes to main courses at Silks, expect everything from poached chicken supreme with a tarragon and pancetta cream sauce, to a sirloin steak with hand-cut chips and onion rings.
During the afternoon there's the option to indulge in either a traditional cream tea or an afternoon tea at Silks, with the latter coming with sandwiches, cakes, scones and sweet treats and costing just £16 per person. Meanwhile, in the evening you can opt for a cocktail off the bar's impressive menu or go all-out and treat yourself to a bottle of Champagne. Drinks can be enjoyed either in the cosy bar area or out on the terrace.
