Seven Stars is in Kingsbridge, a market town in the South Hams area of Devon that is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is known for its rugged coastal stretches, quaint villages and long stretches of walking paths. The interior and exterior of the pub are typical of small town locals and there is also a sizable outdoor terrace.
The food menu combines pub staples with a selection of dishes from around the world. Starters include chickpea and vegetable soup, kiln-smoked salmon with pickled fennel and woodland mushrooms in a Stilton sauce. There’s also a range of sharers and bar snacks, such as frickles, chicken wings, and pork belly bites.
The mains line up will offer something to suit most tastes. Pub classics are represented by the likes of sausage and mash and fish and chips. The two vegetarian options are a wild mushroom, spinach and tarragon pie or a butternut squash and lentil Wellington. You’ll also find a king prawn coconut curry, a Korean fried chicken burger and Aberdeen Angus sirloin steak, served with skin on fries. Savoury pies and puddings are also on offer. Fillings here include chicken and ham hock, venison and dry cured bacon and steak and ale.
On Sundays a roast is served. Chicken and beef are the two meats to choose from. All roasts are served with sea salt and rosemary roast potatoes, buttered seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Additional sides include cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets.
Any dish from the lunch menu can be combined with a drink for £11. This includes a selection of alcoholic drinks. Seven Stars also runs a set price supper club menu where two courses are £20.
