About

Sculthorpe Mill, is a pretty country pub and hotel located in the heart of rural Norfolk. Surrounded by rolling fields and a babbling stream, Sculthorpe Mill has been voted as The Times Best Hotel in the East of England 2021. This converted watermill has been thoughtfully refurbished and restored, and is open daily serving a bar and restaurant menu. The bar is central to the interior of Sculthorpe Mill and enjoys two cosy and recently decorated snugs, alongside the restaurant which enjoys access to the kitchen garden and the pergola which overlooks flower gardens and streams.

If you’re visiting for dinner you will find a seasonal menu on offer, featuring many locally sourced ingredients. An example of the dishes you might find include starters such as homemade soda bread with butter, and Brancaster oysters with shallot vinaigrette and cocktail sauce. Examples of the mains include fillet of sea bream with orzo, capers, monks beard and salsa verde, and Heath farm rump steak with watercress salad, chips and bernaise sauce.

Those looking for meat free options may go for butternut squash spelt risotto with Binham blue, kale and caramelized walnuts, or the spaghetti of wild mushrooms with leeks, tarragon and toasted hazelnuts. If you’re still hankering for dessert, you may find on the menu a passionfruit fool with double chocolate shortbread or a knickerbocker glory for lovers of the retro favourite.

If you’re looking for smaller dishes take a look at the bar menu which features options such as Welsh rarebit toastie served with rhubarb and ginger chutney, and old spot pork sausage roll with homemade brown sauce.

Sculthorpe Mill enjoys a rural location surrounded by many local attractions such as the Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve, and the Sculthorpe Hawk and Owl Trust. A short drive away you will also find miles of stunning Norfolk coastline and Hokham beach.
