Turn the corner from Cross Street and find this striking and iconic red-brick building which dates back to 1872 and promises good food, good beer, and a great atmosphere. Sam's has a history which spans a staggering three centuries… and we've managed to retain a large part of that history inside.
The cuisine mirrors our heritage, with classic British dishes such as mouth-watering corned beef hash cake, or homemade steak and kidney pudding made with fresh lamb's kidneys. Other dishes have been given a modern twist, hence the comparison to Mrs Beeton for the 21st Century, try our roasted pork fillet, served with purple sprouting broccoli, a sweet apple grain mustard purée & a savoury pig jowl hash brown. Fine wines are one of the things which set Sam's and our other chop houses apart. The wine list has been judged Manchester's best in many of the city's Food & Drink festivals of the last decade. Compiled and constantly updated by our wine buyer and sommelier George Bergier.
