Salt Whisky Bar & Dining Room is the place to be for a sophisticated Indian dining experience, where you can enjoy dishes that blend creativity with authentic flavours and classic techniques. This is an upscale restaurant that has plenty of finery within its walls, but is unpretentious in its nature. The restaurant was designed to feature a glass lit bar with an illuminated display case that houses 200 whiskeys from across the globe, and has a combination of walnut hardwood floor and contemporary elements that bring the space to life.
Chaats are the starting snacks which are typically served on the roadside from stalls or carts in Indian and Pakistan, and the Salt Bar menu has plenty to choose from. Try the bhel puri with a mixture of rice puffs, onions, tomatoes, pomegranate seeds and chutneys, with a sprinkling of sev on top. Entree bites are the restaurant's version of starters, and include a chilli paneer, salt and pepper mogo and Punjabi veg samosa with a tamarind chutney. There are snacks from the tandoor, too, including tandoori jhinga lasooni, which is a dish of prawns flavoured with garlic and handpicked spices, grilled in a tandoor and served with mint sauce.
The house special biryanis are a harmonious blend of aromatic flavours that encapsulate India's essence. You have a choice of lamb shank and chicken nizami biryani thali. The latter is made as a classic rice dish with layers, with a marinated chicken leg and served with raita, dal, kheer, Bombay aloo and salad. Salt specialities include the oregano, olive and cheese naan, stuffed with mozzarella cheese, olives and crusted with dry oregano – make sure to try!
