Russell's Restaurant is located on Bell Street, Great Baddow, Chelmsford. Open from Tuesday to Friday for lunch and dinner, and at weekends for a mix of lunch, dinner, and private functions.
Russel's Restaruant has a menu of both locally sourced seasonal, and international ingredients, dishes are freshly cooked to order. Lead by proprietor and Executive Head Chef Barry Warren-Watson and his talented team, this long-established restaurant takes pride of place within an impressive vaulted barn, built in 1372, one of the oldest buildings in Chelmsford.
The interior has been thoughtfully restored throughout with plenty seating available for both large and small groups, there is also a lovely lounge area for guests to enjoy before and after their meal, the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail and some nibbles, or perhaps to peruse the menus.
The menus sound equally as impressive as the architecture. You will find an a la carte menu, alongside a set menu, Sunday lunch, as well as various themed nights.
Dishes are subject to change however you may find on the menu starters such as grilled freshwater tiger prawns served with garlic and chili butter, and local smoked salmon served with crayfish tail cocktail, lemon and lime.
Main dishes may include corn fed chicken supreme served with grain mustard potato and black olive jus, and sea bass filet served with spinach and textures of cauliflower.
Desserts sound equally as tempting, with dishes such as caramelised brioche bread and butter pudding served with marmalade ice cream, and caramel cheesecake served with butterscotch sauce and strawberries.
You will also discover a selection of Russel's fine aged beef grills on offer, all served with your choice of sauce and sides.
Post-dinner you will also find a great selection of cheeses, handmade chocolates, tea and coffee.
If you are booking in a group of 8 or more, guests will need to pre-order at least 5 days before the event. Groups of 12 or more are most welcome and will need to pay a small deposit per-head to secure the booking. Talk to the friendly team for more information.
