Runyon’s Restaurant at Hotel Brooklyn is one of the Voco hotel chain's dining spots. If the hotel rooms are anything to go on, you know the food is going to be good. The restaurant is located on the hotel's ground floor and is a great place to visit if you're looking for somewhere laid back yet luxurious to dine in Manchester. The all day menu is served from midday until 10pm, and opens for drinks earlier at 9am.
Some of the bar snacks include a Lancashire Bomb cheese and onion croquette with chilli and red onion jam, the beef sliders in a brioche bun with cheese, tomato chutney and baby gem lettuce, and crispy coated BBQ chicken wings with spring onion and lime creme fraiche. If you'd prefer to share with your fellow diners, try the garden platter with sweet potato, pea, mint and beetroot falafel, marinated artichoke hearts, grilled vegetables, harissa houmous and rosemary and garlic tortilla chips. The large plates are in place of mains, and include a classic shakshuka with baked peppers, onions, tomato and hen's eggs with grilled garlic ciabatta, and a trio of local Birtwistles sausage with colcannon mash, seasonal greens, crisp pickled onion rings and red onion gravy.
At lunchtime try one of the sandwiches on thick sliced white or brown sourdough, with fillings of cajun chicken, roast beetroot falafel and harissa hummus and chicken BLT with chargrilled chicken, smoked streaky bacon, plum tomato, baby gem and mayonnaise. Desserts include There's a good selection of desserts, including the chocolate and cherry tart with sorbet and compote, a Manchester tart with vanilla pod chantilly cream, and vanilla creme brulee with lemon and poppyseed shortbread.
