Rotorious is a tropical rotisserie chicken concept by brothers and chicken lovers Adam and Sam Reid, aimed at bringing London’s most notoriously good chicken to Peckham (hence the name). Following a host of pop-ups and temporary residencies, Rotorious is the first bricks-and-mortar site from the duo where they’re serving up a global menu along with plenty of classic cocktails and draft beer.
You can find the 22-cover spot amongst a host of other eateries and food vendors at Market Stalls, with plenty of communal seating perfect for relaxed all-day eating. The menu draws inspiration from all over the world, with French-style slow spit-roasted rotisserie chicken at the core of every dish. Every bird is self-basted throughout, although rather than opting for classic flavours, the Reid brothers have created a signature homemade rub from a range of tropical spices.
Main dishes include your choice of a quarter, half or whole rotisserie chicken cooked with its signature rub and finished with a squeeze of slow cooked lemon, fresh spring onion and a sprinkle of coriander. Other options include a chicken sub roll filled with purple slaw, mayo, lemon and chicken gravy, a chicken salad box or Rotorious fries. All chickens are Norfolk Whites supplied locally by The Butcher’s Block and every dish is served with free spicy chicken gravy and homemade ‘Peckham Punisher’ pineapple and scotch bonnet hot sauce.
The cocktail list keeps it simple with all the classics, allowing diners to choose from a Negroni, Margarita, Passion Fruit Spritz or Aperol Spritz. Cool draft beers from Beavertown and a range of non-alcoholic drinks are also available.
Keen to keep things fresh and constantly evolving, look out for a line-up of guest residencies and host chefs who will be taking over the kitchen with their own take on rotisserie chicken throughout the year.
