If you love Roti King but don't love the queues at their original Euston location, you'll soon be able to try your luck with their new place at Battersea Power Station. Nestled under the Grosvenor Bridge railway arches, Roti King joins a huge array of bars, shops, leisure facilities and restaurants like Tapas Brindisa, Wright Brothers, Megan's and Tonkotsu in the exciting new Circus West Village development.
The iconic Malaysian restauraunt is home to an affordable and tasty selection of Malaysian dishes, each of which are inspired by traditional Malaysian street food. Perhaps their most famous is the handmade roti canai - two pieces of roti served with your choice of kari (mutton, dahl, chicken and fish). The Battersea location also promises to be the first place in the UK that serves up a vegan version.
Also on the menu are Malaysian classics such as Murtabak (roti with your choice of filling) nasi lemak and nasi goreng. Keep an eye out for their signature coconut rice, which you can get with your choice of beef rendang and ayam goreng berempah. The Battersea location also will expand their menu to include new vegetarian and vegan options, a draw for the plant-lovers who want to enjoy the Malaysian cuisine, and you can wash it all down with your pick of South Asian beer or canned wine.
The restaurant is focused on the food, so the aesthetic is paired-down and simple. The best news of all, though, is that Roti King Battersea plans to take bookings - half the seating will be reserved for walk-ins, but that still means roti fans can book in advance to dodge the queues.
