Rectory Farm Tea Rooms can be found in the rural parish of Morwenstow. A beautiful space that is perfect for a sweet treat and some time to relax, the tearooms are just ten minutes to the cliffs, and so the very best views across the rugged North Cornish coastline is never too far away. The house has a rich history, after being built in the 13th century, and so is filled with so much character, including slate floors and antique furnishings. You'll get to warm up on a winter's eve next to the open fires and enjoy the beautiful oak beams that retain their original glory after being salvaged from shipwrecks on the coast.
The Rectory Farm afternoon tea is served daily on vintage china, and always needs a reservation at least 24 hours in advance. You'll enjoy homemade savoury quiche, salad garnish and two rounds of sandwich from a fresh selection. Then it's onto the sweets, including freshly baked scones with jam and cream, a selection of cakes, homemade biscuits, meringues and cream, with chocolate brownies, fresh fruit and a pot of tea for two. How good does that sound? For light lunches, enjoy a large bowl of vegetarian homemade soup with a freshly baked roll, or a selection of West Country cheeses including Cornish Blue, brie and cheddar, with caramelised onion chutney, pickled onions, a mixed leaf salad with a signature homemade dressing, coleslaw and a freshly baked roll. Sandwiches are prepared to order on brown or white bread with fillings of West Country cheddar and an apple and cider chutney, hummus with grated carrot, apple and sultana slaw, and brie with cranberry and grape.
