OPENS SPRING 2020
Sisters Victoria and Grace Sheppard have each brought their skills and experience to launch a smart new artisan coffee shop in the heart of Mayfair. We’re not sure whether the name refers to the street or to the entrepreneurial duo – or both – but we are sure that the pair have done their market research; Queens of Mayfair is almost guaranteed to be a hit with the local fashion crowd.
The decor has been carefully designed by Grace, who manages interior design projects for luxury building company Chartwell, while Victoria brings her hospitality marketing expertise to the project. The pair have also established a relationship with Difference Coffee which, up until now, has supplied its coffee exclusively to Michelin-starred restaurants and private members’ clubs. This elite collaboration will certainly give Queens of Mayfair an edge and draw in coffee aficionados who subscribe to Difference Coffee’s claim of supplying “The Best Coffee in the World”.
Queens won’t just be a classy coffee shop, though; as well as the takeaway coffee counter and grab-and-go section, it will also offer seating for those wishing to stop by for breakfast, lunch and after-work cocktails, as well as a private dining space. Home-made and artisan products such as cakes and pastries will feature highly on the menu, with produce hailing from London and the sisters’ home county of Dorset. Lunch will see the likes of fresh, healthy salads, soups and sandwiches on offer.
Having been a vegetarian for 19 years, Grace is passionate about the veggie offering, noting that while the menu won’t be completely meat free, there will be a variety of plant-based dishes available each day. Little more about the duo’s first venture is known at this stage, but as soon as further details and menus are released, we’ll update you.
