This dark candlelit basement dive lurks beneath a branch of Russell Norman's Polpo and is the kind of place that you'll wander into for "just one drink" after work, then wander out of hours later, after losing count of the Negronis. The list is big on Italian bitters, so expect Aperol and Campari Spritzes, alongside classic Americanos, or choose your G&T from a line-up of 25 gins. Craft beers from Beavertown and Five Points are also on offer, alongside a compact list of wines. The Polpo pedigree is evident in a range of tasty pizzette, as well as cicchetti snacks such as Venetian meatballs and crostini topped with fig and prosciutto. In a previous life, this site was the iconic Marquis of Granby pub, where legendary 1970s bands, including Pink Floyd and Sex Pistols, rocked out.
