This buzzy sibling to the Farringdon original is at home in the West End, thanks to a packed schedule of live music, featuring pianists and full-size bands who take requests from punters. The noisy space is better suited to nights out than intimate catch-ups with friends, but the lively atmosphere will keep you and your pals entertained.
To add to the fun, almost every night is themed, with a daily cocktail and Champagne hour, and a ‘brunch to the beat’ which takes place every Saturday. The simple à la carte starts with the likes of a goat’s cheese quinoa salad, and shrimp tacos with chipotle mayonnaise. For mains, there are dishes involving ribeye steak, pulled pork and corn-fed chicken, while vegetarians can opt for smoked cauliflower, or a bean chilli served with nachos and cashew cheese.
Fuss-free desserts see cheesecake and ice creams, while there are plenty of cocktails to sip on while you get down to the music. Try classics such as a Pornstar Martini and an Old Fashioned, or take a chance with the ‘Top 10’, a regularly-updated list of cocktails inspired by Piano Works’ top ten song requests.
