Patron Saint is a neighbourhood bar and restaurant in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh, with a relaxed vibe and quirky decor, serving up all day dining from lunch into the late evening. Inside, think colourful, retro-inspired interiors with hot pink walls and patterned seating, original details like wooden wall panelling and plasterwork cornicing, updated with a new, rich colour palette, and unusual statement details like a paint-splattered ceiling, inspiring diners to look up. Least to say, this place is Instagram-able to the nines, so you'll want to leep your eye out for good photo opportunities.
In terms of the menu, brunch is only served at weekends, and offers a mix of sweet and savoury options, plenty of classics and a few concoctions of their own. You can't go wrong with salmon French brioche with creamy philly, avocado, Bernaise sauce and fresh lime, while the Nutella waffle with caramelised cashew, whipped mascarpone and ricotta ice cream is sure to be an instant hit.
For lunch and dinner, you can either share a mix of small plates or opt for a larger, main dish. Across the small dish options, you'll find the likes of confit duck croquettes with soy glazed aubergines, hoisin and Japanese mayo, alongside peach, chicory and goats cheese salad with a frisee, pomegranate and raspberry dressing, as well as Thai fishcakes with ginger and lemongrass mayo.
If you'd prefer something all to yourself, we like the sound of the Bloody Mary burger which comes with its own spicy mayo, plus the shellfish orzo with clams, mussels, prawns and grilled aubergines and courgettes, but there's plenty more to go with that, too.
The team are also passionate about serving up a selection of great cocktails, coming up with concoctions like the Sweet Sting with Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey, Cocchi VDT and Amaro di Angostura, so make sure you give those a try.
