Buried within the busy streets and trendy restaurants of Peckham, you'll find Omni, a relaxed but refined plant-based kitchen, natural wine specialist and cocktail bar. The menu focuses on smaller plates to share, which are influenced by international cuisine. Omni is totally plant-based, and its chefs are on a mission to show how interesting and diverse vegan and vegetarian dishes can be. All produce is sourced as fresh and locally as possible, to help enhance those natural flavours.
A great example of what Omni has to offer is the 'all in' menu, which changes every month. Here, for a set price, you can try a tasting menu which allows the kitchen to show off its best creations. As an example of what to expect, the current menu features the likes of saffron and miso braised fennel, alongside chicory with lacto-cherries and chamomile, as well as oyster mushroom skewers with char siu, apple and mint. For afters, diners can enjoy English strawberries with black pepper ice cream, fennel and tequila granita, which sounds truly delicious.
Dishes are complemented with a selection of recommended natural wines such as a pet nat to start and digestifs to finish, including the house 'homemade lemon and chilli-chello' which sounds fun. The team are also passionate about mixing up imaginative cocktails and so, expect to see the likes of the Samphire Martini with samphire infused vodka, cocchi Americano vermouth and lemon, as well as the Rhubarb Old Fashioned with Bulleit bourbon, rhubarb and black pepper syrup with bitters.
The space itself is paired back and extremely cool, as one might expect from the area. The rich, teal-toned wall panelling, industrial lighting and cosy window benches feels both effortless and curated, making this a lovely place for a date or catch up with friends. Plus, the back room is available to book out, in case you have a special occasion coming up.
