Olivares Tapas Bar served delicious, authentic Spanish food and tapas on the corner of Castle Hill. With the Cathedral in the background, Olivares sits proudly in Lincoln's charming Castle Square.
You can enjoy some snacks with a glass of wine whilst you peruse the menu for your main meal. On the list are marinated mixed olives and an assortment of salted nuts, which both go down exceptionally well with a glass of something cold. Next up are the breads, from toasted rustic bread 'Majorcan' style, rubbed with garlic, fresh crushed tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil, along with bread topped with Serrano ham and manchego cheese. Spanish boards are great for sharing, and come with mixes of cheese, ham and bread with dips.
Then it's onto the tapas. There are so many options to choose from, including fish options of white anchovy fillets with garlic and Jerez vinegar, mussels cooked in a white wine and spicy tomato sauce, and chorizo and king prawns. For vegetarian dishes there are courgettes cooked with eggplant, potatoes, red peppers and a tomato sauce, along with sauteed mushrooms in creamy blue cheese. Bell peppers are stuffed with minced pork and beef, rice, tomatoes, cheese, summer herbs and garlic before being roasted in the oven with a splash of Chardonnay and served with sour cream. If you like dates, enjoy them wrapped in parma ham, whilst croquettes come filled with chicken, cheese and herbs.
