The Stacey family have been running the No.7 Fish Bistro in Torquay since 1993, and are proud to serve diners the very best fresh fish and shellfish from Brixham. You can get to the bistro and wine bar easily, in just five minutes from the town centre, and make use of the ample parking. The menu can change depending on the best catches, and of course, adverse weather conditions. There are also always daily specials, which you can find displayed on the blackboards.
Starters are also available as light lunches, and include homemade soups, such as the French onion, minty courgette and potato. Other starters include the fresh whole crab seafood broth, squid that is pan fried with garlic, a goat's cheese salad with a rosemary flavoured white bean puree and oak roast salmon. There are a great number of mains on the menu, including fillets of plaice filled with prawns and baked under a cheese and wine sauce, and salmon with mild Moroccan spices. Other mains include the scallops simmered with mushrooms, vermouth and lemon, and thick cod steak that is roasted with olive oil, herbs and garlic. If you're feeling decadent, enjoy the lobster and crab that is direct from Brixham Harbour and served fresh boiled or grilled with garlic and brandy.
There are some great desserts to choose from, too, including apple crumble flamed with calvados, and treacle tart. Then there's the brandy snap basket filled with amaretto ice cream, and local mixed sorbet for a refreshing finish to your meal. Each season, there is a new creme brulee flavour, using the very best locally sourced fruit and ingredients that are available.
