City seafood specialist The Angler will be toasting mums with a three-course set lunch menu including a luxury beauty gift for the lady of the moment, courtesy of designer James Heeley. Diners can expect Orkney scallop carpaccio or Herdwick lamb with morels, a glass of Besserat Champagne and skyline views. The set menu will be prepared by executive chef Tony Fleming and is priced at £58 per person.

Bonding with flowers at Blueprint Café
Thames-side Blueprint Café is offering flower arranging shenanigans alongside great views of Tower Bridge. Sunday morning’s event includes a glass of Prosecco on arrival, a demonstration and interactive master class (you can take your creations home) and a two-course set lunch, all for £60 per person.

Chef-owner Chris Galvin has put together a seasonally-inspired lunch menu for Baker Street’s Galvin Bistrot de Luxe in celebration of Mother’s Day. Galvin cure smoked salmon and roast chicken are included on the £29 menu, while a special two-course kids menu ensures the whole family are well catered for. Mums eat for free at Gilgamesh
Mothers who fancy a pan-Asian treat should pay a visit to Gilgamesh in Camden, where they’ll be served a complimentary three-course meal. Diners can choose from a set menu which includes lamb shank mussamon, roasted wild salmon and vegetarian options. Priced at £35 per person, mum eats for free with at least three paying guests. The Rosewood is laying on an indulgent afternoon tea for Mother's Day, including finger sandwiches, scones and tea cakes, plus patisserie from the counter. This slice of luxury in Holborn costs £45 a head, complete with Champagne to give mum’s day a little extra sparkle.

Treat mum to a three-course lunch or dinner at Mews of Mayfair and they’ll throw in a goody bag stuffed full of luxury Elemis beauty products for her take home, as well as 20% off treatments at a top nearby spa. A three-course set menu costs £29.50 and features Dorset crab on toast, roast rib of South Devon beef with all the trimmings, and a dark chocolate and pecan brownie.

A tasty night at the Great Northern Hotel
The Great Northern Hotel in Kings Cross is tempting mothers inside with an offer exclusive to Sundays. The package includes an overnight stay, a glass of Billecart Champagne as well as dinner and breakfast at Plum + Spilt Milk, overseen by Gordon Ramsay collaborator Mark Sargeant. This special offer is available for any Sunday of the year, at £199 for one or £244 for a couple.

Brunch and a movie in Soho
The Soho Hotel will be combining screenings of Philomena with a brunch menu in Refuel on Mother’s Day, at £35 per person. Expect smoked salmon, French toast with maple syrup or some classic eggs Benedict, accompanied by a passionfruit Bellini and Judi Dench. Happily, your mum will dine for free if she’s with three or more guests.

Mad Drinker’s tea party
From Mother’s Day through to Sunday 20th April, Sketch is offering a unique ‘Mother’s Par-tea cocktail’, a deconstructed concoction of hot hibiscus tea, lemon juice and sugar. Not to mention lashings of gin. Priced at £13.50, the cocktail is served in a glass cocktail teacup, making this one for quietly mischievous mums. Available throughout the expansive Sketch, we recommend settling in the Glade lounge, presented as a magical art nouveau forest. Afternoon tea with quail eggs and caviar could also be on the agenda for £34 per person.

Mayfair’s swanky Seven Park Place is serving an specially created four-course Mothering Sunday lunch menu for £64 per person including matching wines. Dishes include ravioli of langoustine with wilted spring greens and morels, assiette of pork with caramelised apple puree and onion crackling, and banana and toffee soufflé with dark chocolate sauce. What’s more, if mum wants to stay the night she can make the most of a 20% discount in the adjoining St James’s Hotel.
