The group behind the Goodman and Burger & Lobster chains is to
open a new restaurant on May 6 serving only a a surf and turf dish of steak and king crab for main course.
Beast will open on Chapel Place in Marylebone, charging a fixed price of £75 a head to include a starter, main, side dishes and dessert. It is similar in concept to Burger & Lobster, where
either one of the namesake mains will set you back a standardised £20.
The crabs at Beast will be caught in the Arctic Circle and shipped live to the UK, and the beef will all be American USDA-graded prime cuts. While the meat quality will be high, those concerned for
the environment or for the British farming industry will rightly raise the question of why British beef is not being used.
Bookings for Beast open today (0207 495 1816). The sizeable 100-seat venue will join Russian restaurant group Goodman’s London portfolio of three Goodman steak restaurants and five branches of Burger
& Lobster, with another due for Fitzrovia later this year.
