The Botanist
Famed for their large bar and range of cracking cocktails, this sepia-sleek, dimly-lit diner is a whirlwind tour of Europe all in one. Stay close to home with a pie of Essex ham hock, or cross over to the continent with pea and shallot tortellini or crispy Wiener schnitzels. Pair with a Negroni or Vesper Martini, then take things up a notch in the underground club and cocktail lounge.
Comptoir Libanais
Travel to the souks of Beirut for a flavour-packed food stop: with quirky murals and colourful enamel stools, you’ll think you’re in sun-soaked Lebanon (via Liverpool Street). The falafel-laden counter is accompanied by halloumi flatbreads, lamb kofta tagines and tabbouleh salads.
Crab Tavern
New York style meets West Coast cuisine at this US-inspired surf 'n’ turf option. Serving brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks, come for crab with waffles, crab thermidor, crustacean-crammed platters and ‘the best (crab) legs in town’. Combine that with truly American portions and you’re certainly in for a feast.
Franco Manca
Serving some of London’s best sourdough pizza, these crusts are slow-risen, wood-baked and seriously good. Dream of Naples with creamy toppings such as buffalo ricotta, cured organic chorizo, roasted aubergine and soft goats’ curd. To drink, Italianate wines, Veneto bubbly and ice-cold Prosecco wash everything down nicely.
Jose Pizarro
Inspired by sunny Spain, this Med-loving menu offers tapas, tortillas, smoky hand-carved meats and fresh seafood. Slate-grey tones and a bustling open kitchen add to the convivial vibe and with ace breakfasts, takeaway lunches and impressive drinks, Jose Pizarro is on to another winner.
Shoryu Ramen
A tribute to Japan’s Fukuoka-style noodles, expect creamy slow-cooked bowls of ramen alongside fluffy, pork-packed steamed buns. There’s also sushi and sashimi for those after a lighter bite, as well as saké, sochu and Japanese whisky on hand.
StreetDots
These well-travelled trucks are a whirlwind world tour all in one. Bringing an ever-changing line-up of street food stars to Broadgate, you'll find three StreetDots on the upper level of Broadgate Circle. From the meaty hot subs of Sub Cults, to Chapati Man’s delicious Indian wraps, StreetDots gives rising food stars the chance to shine. They even say they have the best bacon roll in London, courtesy of Le Swine; now that's a claim we'll be investigating fully.
Street Kitchen
Dive into a Great British sarnie stuffed with slow-cooked, organic and seasonal grub. Forget the footlong: these sandwiches are available by the inch, with delicious fillings like rare roast beef and caramelised onions, hot-smoked salmon and lobster. Co-founder Jun Tanaka has since won strong reviews with his new The Ninth restaurant, so quality is assured here.
Yauatcha
Get a taste for fine China with this all-day dim sum and dessert star, famed for its crispy duck rolls, steamed cheung fun and wild mushroom dumplings. The extensive menu caters to just about everything, but don't forget to head downstairs for an ogle at the superb patisserie too.
