It’s the end of a long day and an even longer week… how do you relax? Likely you’re reaching for the nearest glass of wine – despite promises to lead a healthier lifestyle this year or even to let yesterday’s hangover finally settle down. Stop right there: perhaps now is the time to honour those promises and try a sophisticated tipple without any of the unwanted consequences.

Let us introduce you to Azizi, the non-alcoholic liqueurs that are perfect for creating the ultimate unwind drinks without a headache in sight.

All the flavour

Realising the demand for refined booze-free drinks and weary of the poor choice of sweet, sugary alternatives, Azizi founders Debbie Peers-Smith and Liz Harwood (above) decided to create something for people who are both style and health conscious. When developing the recipes, the team made a particular point of maintaining the mouthfeel and full flavour of the product’s boozy counterparts.

As the mastermind behind the liquids, Peers-Smith says, ‘Do we want to get drunk all the time? No! But we do want something to unwind with at the end of the day that is still delicious and is also alcohol-free.’

By using ingredients such as hops – for that instantly recognisable bitter flavour – as well as valerian – for natural relaxation – Azizi offers up a drink with all of the taste, mouthfeel and fun without any of the guilt. It’s available in two expressions.

Azizi Classic Ruby is a delightful blend of pomegranate, elderflower and lime, the three flavours blending together to create a lightly sweet and beautiful taste. But what sets Ruby apart from other cordials and liqueurs you may have had in the past is that Azizi adds a carefully selected blend of herbs to give the drink extra dimension and depth. This is a grown-up experience in a glass.

Azizi Classic Gold is drier, with a floral-yet-bitter taste – and one seriously incredible nose. The blend is comprised of lime, mint and elderflower, plus that signature herbal blend to fully enhance your sips.

Michelin ambassador

Adam Gray (above), Michelin-starred chef and advocate of healthy living, has become an ambassador for Azizi. Of the partnership he says, ‘It has been fantastic working with Azizi – not only in creating new drinks recipes, but also in developing truly unique food recipes, incorporating Azizi Classic Gold and Azizi Classic Ruby into various savoury and sweet dishes with amazing results.’

Azizi Classic costs £9.95 per bottle, and is a concentrate, with approximately 24 x 15ml servings per bottle. To find your nearest stockist visit azizidrinks.com
