The New Coast Kitchen restaurant is housed in the old Brooke Stores building in Croyde Village and has been welcoming guests for a memorable dining experience since 2020. Here, you'll always find excellent dishes on the menu, curated by Martin Baylis and his team, that are packed with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. It’s a modern British restaurant, with candlelit tables, sleek design accents, a geometric tiled bar, and statement wallpaper peppered with foliage.
At dinner, the New Coast Kitchen menu begins with appetisers of house bread with seaweed butter, tempura oysters with wasabi tartare and dill, and fresh oysters with chilli oil and pickled apple. The starters include slow-roasted beets with cashew cream, pickles and crisps; a rich glazed pig cheek with celeriac and grain mustard vinaigrette; and the luxurious burrata with tomato fondue, marinated courgettes and dukkah. For your main, you'll always find something special on the menu, which may be the herb gnocchi with watercress veloute, spring vegetables and whipped feta, or a dish of guinea fowl with cauliflower croquettes, black garlic emulsion and Madeira sauce. On the side, be sure to order some dishes of fried potatoes with caper mayo and marinated anchovies, or sprouting broccoli with bagna cauda and toasted almonds.
There are some fantastic desserts at New Coast Kitchen, including a poached pear with yoghurt sorbet and almond sponge, a rich millionaire's chocolate tart with mascarpone sorbet and a selection of British cheeses with apple chutney, grapes and biscuits. For something delicious to drink with your food, try the Lemon Sherbet Margarita with tequila, Cointreau, lime and lemon sherbet, and the Cherry Chocolate Old Fashioned with rye whiskey, cherry syrup, chocolate bitters and angostura bitters.
New Coast Kitchen also offers brunch every day, with different takes on the usual favourites from full English breakfasts to smoked salmon and pancakes.
