Mr Fogg's is an extravagant "Downton meets Ab Fab" folly from theme bar addicts Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling – the socially connected chaps behind Sloane hangouts Maggie's, Bart's and Bunga Bunga. Mixing Rule Britannia stuff and nonsense with camp colonial gubbins, this Mayfair tribute to late-Victorian globetrotter Phileas J. Fogg is a hoot – although it takes its hooch seriously. Within the confines of this dreamed-up fantasy mansion, charming liveried flunkies serve boozy afternoon teas and tiffin, while punchbowls and cocktails have various 'height of Empire' hooks: Bay of Bengal, Pride of Tanzania and Platinum Pocket Watch, for instance. Made with premium spirits, the likes of Penny Farthing (a Cuban Manhattan with Zacapa XO rum) will set you back a pretty penny – too bad prices aren't also from the 1870s.
