Montagu's Mews at The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa

The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa in Bath offers a five-star experience in the heart of Bath. Located in one of the world's most famous crescents, this example of Georgian architecture has been long favoured by high society and even royals. Inside, the decor is a mix of traditional, period features and contemporary chic, with soft colour palettes, comfy sofas and glittering chandeliers. 

Montagu's Mews is a bar, restaurant and terrace at The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa. Its concept is inspired by the original resident of the hotel's building, Elizabeth Montagu, who was a writer, advocate for women's education, literary hostess and supporter of the Blue Stocking Society, an education-focused feminist movement. Elizabeth's forward-thinking attitude and impressive influence is the heartbeat of the restaurant, which honours her by name. 

The scheme brings together old and new, and is sympathetic to the building's history while updating its interiors with contemporary pieces. The colour palette is made up of soft pinks, while lighting feels sculptural and patterned rugs underfoot offer depth and texture. 

Head Chef Martin Blake will be running the kitchen and has devised the menu around fresh, local produce. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea will be served by the team, with recipes which use seasonal ingredients and are updated accordingly. The bar's menu is also curated with these themes in mind, favouring small batch spirits, local botanicals and a thoughtful selection of wines and beers. Come the summer time, the team invite you outside to enjoy the new terrace, too. Here you can sip on an old favourite or try one of the mixologists new concoctions, while looking out to the pretty gardens. And don't worry, once a chill hits the air, the outdoor heaters will ensure you stay cosy all evening.
