Do you fancy Italian or Peruvian tonight? We know: it's a real dilemma. Monmouth Kitchen offers both at the same time, but this isn't fusion. Instead, the menu is split in two, with one side offering Italian favourites such as risotto and bruschetta, while the other focuses on tacos, spicy fish dishes and anticucho skewers. Everything comes on shareable small plates: we advise five between two (six if you're famished). We kicked off with creamy burrata, alongside spicy chicken tacos; tiny flavour bombs. We also sampled a rich Italian fish and seafood stew alongside lobster ceviche, with lovely zesty spicing but too many acidic tomatoes. Smoked and tender lamb cutlets on a dramatic, sizzling-hot stone were the standout, with lip-smacking spice. Drinks include pisco cocktails and decent Italian and South American wines, while slick service fits the sexy surrounds. With DJs at the weekends, MK is a fun choice for a night out.
