Originally founded in 2010, Café Milk is bringing nutritionally sound, seasonal and natural fresh food to Edinburgh’s West End and beyond. It’s seasonal breakfast, brunch and lunch menus made with the highest quality ingredients mean that this is one of Edinburgh’s top mid-morning to late afternoon spots.
Quality and sustainability are top priority here. Each ingredient is thoughtfully and carefully sourced from local and organic suppliers, preferably based in Scotland. These include Red Tractor Assured Poultry and sustainably caught fish.
These products are then used to prepare classic breakfast dishes- the menu includes the likes of banana bread toasted with honey, yoghurt and pistachios, breakfast brioche with bacon Comte and crispy sage, and full breakfasts available as vegan, vegetarian or with chorizo and chimichurri. The menu features some Middle Eastern twists such as granola and Greek yoghurt served with rose and pistachio.
Lunch changes daily in order to showcase the best seasonal produce- the best option is always to ask staff or see the board in the café for further details. Expect to find lunch items such as sandwiches and salads.
After mains, be sure to check out the range of cakes which are baked fresh daily and are mostly vegan and gluten-free. Wash it all down with some natural and organic wine, locally crafted beers, and coffee made with direct trade Brazilian coffee beans roasted in Edinburgh.
The flagship West End Café Milk location is a fresh, light-soaked venue thanks to its front-facing floor-to-ceiling windows. Inside sees a modern-style décor, with white tiles, rustic wooden benches and metal stools, all set in a palette of different shades of blue with houseplants lending fun pops of green. It’s small, it’s intimate and it’s inviting, ideal for a relaxing catch-up over a meal and coffee.
Café Milk is available to hire for private events, dog-friendly and also boasts a range of games and toys to keep children entertained throughout their visit, making it a versatile spot ideal for all the family.
