Following an extensive makeover, what was Curve Restaurant at the London Marriott has been reborn as the sizzling Manhattan Grill. Good steaks require good beef, and the owners have plumped for wet-aged USDA prime Black Angus from Creekstone, Kansas and dry-aged Scottish cuts from the home of Aberdeen Angus. After that, it’s all about expert butchery and smart cooking – in this case an authentic Montague broiler takes pride of place in the open kitchen. Fillets, New York strips, mighty bone-in sirloins and wing ribs are served with various toppings, sauces and sides – or you can opt for a Manhattan burger, spatchcock chicken or even roast black cod with miso/mirin sauce. Desserts are pure calorific indulgence and the wine list offers beefy drinking from around the globe. Terrific waterside views are a bonus if you fancy carousing on the private alfresco terrace.
