Rooftop bars in London are not quite the novelty they once were, but there are only a handful around that boast truly breathtaking views. To take in all of the sights of central London, head to Hotel Indigo via a side street off Soho and step into the lift which takes you up to the ninth floor. Here, you will find LSQ Rooftop, an all-day rooftop restaurant and bar which boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and a wrap-around balcony.
The LSQ Rooftop menu is a largely British affair, which makes the most of seasonal ingredients sourced from across the UK. Begin your meal with a selection of small sharing plates, such as maple glazed chantenay carrots or crunchy pork crackling slathered with chilli jam. Next up, you can move on to starters proper, which feature the likes of pigeon breast with berry compote and shimeji mushrooms or gin-cured salmon finished off with ceviche and rose water oil.
For your main course, enjoy meat or fish dishes such as pistachio crusted rack of lamb with orange roasted roots butternut squash puree, or halibut with mussels, celeriac, apple and chives. Vegetarians and vegans are not an afterthought either, with plant-based diners able to tuck into the likes of burnt aubergine with vegan creme fraiche, purple basil and pomegranate. To round off your meal, delight in sweet treats such as sticky toffee pudding served with salted caramel ice cream or a vegan chocolate brownie with berry compote and a creamy pistachio mousse.
Don’t miss the selection of signature house cocktails either, which are inspired and named after famous London landmarks - The Big Ben is a blend of Kahlua, Baileys, Cacao Brown, Amaretto and double cream, while The Shard is a mix of Tanqueray Gin, basil leaves, cucumber, fresh lemon, syrup de gomme and egg white.
