LONDON COCKTAIL CLUB ISLINGTON HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED. REPLACED BY HOMEBOY
This sixth member of the London Cocktail Club’s growing arsenal of bars packs the same killer slugs, shots and shooters you’ve come to expect of ventures created by bad-boy owners JJ Goodman and James Hopkins. Don’t be fooled by the old apothecary pose. The ‘staff only’ door is a front for a deconstructed post-punk speakeasy – a dark party pit that’s nudged upmarket by sophisticated cocktails and stylish staff. Jump in for jam jar coolers, Bulleit Rye bourbon Boilermakers (£10), Porn Star or French Martinis, lip-puckering tropical Margaritas, pimped-up classics, and drinks garnished with anything that takes the bartenders’ fancy: be it a Bourbon biscuit or a bacon rasher. In the tasting room, learn the moves at a mixology masterclass, load up on the necessary ingredients at the in-house ‘off licence’, and set up your own LCC tribute at home.
