Following on from Beer Rebellion, this is the second south London taproom from Penge microbrewers Late Knights. Located by Crofton Park station, it offers home draughts such as Old Red Eyes and Crack of Dawn from an ever-growing repertoire, alongside a fascinating array of indie guests: Hopcraft’s Oceanic from South Wales; Great Heck Amish Mash (a grassy, grapefruit-toned golden ale from Goole in Yorkshire), and nutty, malt chocolate Lambeth Walk – an excellent old-style London porter from the By The Horns brewery in Summerstown SW17. For cider drinkers, Abrahalls’ Lily the Pink is a juicy orchard delight, and there are around four dozen bottled beers to delve into – not forgetting a baker’s dozen of whiskies. A homemade burger and chips plus a pint in a dimple pot will set you back around a tenner when you pitch up at this homespun Zone 3 hangout.
