The Elmbank Hotel is a boutique establishment with history that can be traced back to the 19th century. The hotel is just minutes away from York city centre, and looks over the scenic Knavesmire Strays. Redesigned by Mackintosh contemporary George Walton, the Elmbank Hotel has one of the UK's most impressive Art Nouveau collections. The hotel has beautiful stained glass windows and is decorated with popping colours, making it the perfect setting for a luxurious restaurant. This is where you’ll find Leetham’s Brasserie, a restaurant that fuses art, culture, and flavour.
Delivering incredible cuisine that has been cooked from premium, locally sourced ingredients, a visit to Leetham’s Brasserie will leave a sweet taste in your mouth – and we don’t just mean because of the desserts.
The first thing you'll see on the menu are the snacks and sharing options, these include a baked camembert with truffle honey, red onion chutney and artisan bread, along with a mezze platter that contains marinated olives, spiced falafel, hummus, beetroot, charred zucchini and flatbreads. For your starter, why not try the tempura battered king prawns with an Asian style slaw and a lime and sweet chilli dip, or the chicken liver parfait that comes with a red onion marmalade and toasted brioche. If you like a traditional main, try the featherblade of beef with fondant potato, honey glazed root vegetables, confit banana shallots and a rich red wine jus. The Asian crispy duck salad comes with orange, chilli, spring onions and a soy balsamic dressing, and comes in a small or larger size, so you can choose based on your hunger levels. Last up, try the ginger parkin with salted fudge sauce and vanilla ice cream for dessert.
