Imagine your favorite blend of eastern flavours. Now imagine being able to have it all in the palm of your hand.
That's the premise of Le Bab, the modern gourmet kebab shop that is taking one of Britain's favorite drunk foods and is making it the star of the show. They've been around since 2015, and boast that they use Michelin-honed cooking on their shawarma, adana, and shish.
Le Bab's Battersea location is its newest, and promises to elevate your understanding of the kebab right in the heart of the iconic Power Station.
Exploring their menu, you'll find a range of inventive appetizers like Turkish Korean Fried Chicken or Flaming Rare Breed Ragu Fries topped with lamb and jus. Their appetizer list outnumbers their mains, however, which feature only 5 types of kebabs. Check out the 15 Hour Pork Ribeye Shawarma or the vegan Sabich with spicy roasted aubergine. They even promise that with every vegan kebab sold, they'll plant a tree!
You'll also find a cocktail list available, with clear preference given to the Gin & Tonics or the 'Unusuals' & Tonics, which feature flavours such as White Port & Tonic or Vodka & Elderflower. These drinks are probably classier than the ones you pregamed your kebab shop runs with back in your Uni days, but they're still simple enough that the taste of the kebab holds your attention.
For the most part, the design of the Le Bab chain is clean and simple, which definitely pulls your attention back to the food. But why would you look anywhere else, when there's a steaming kebab right in front of you?
