Marylebone village makes an appealing and bustling setting for this family-run modern Italian joint. La Brasseria Milanese is operated by brothers Andrea and Alberto Fraquelli, who were born to the restaurant trade: their grandfather founded Spaghetti House and their father set up Getti (this place sits on a former Getti site). The venue is open all day, and early risers can enjoy breakfast dishes such as smashed avocado on focaccia, or chocolate and pear French toast, alongside fresh juices and coffees. At dinner time, the menu takes a heartier turn, encompassing a selection of pastas (the likes of pumpkin tortellini with butter and Parmesan), and dishes from the grill (fillet steak served with roast potatoes, say). Side dishes range from fries to salad via zucchini fritti. There’s a similarly regional Italian accent to the list of wines and beers.
