The Kingsway rumble, have you heard it?
Directly below is a branch of the Piccadilly line, or at least there was, until 1994. This was also a time when the original Kingsway Hall was used as one most important recording venues for classical and film music.
Recording engineers struggled with continual rumbling from the London Underground and the sound on the records became known as the “Kingsway rumble”.
