Horrell & Horrell is a farm-to-fork restaurant set in a barn in Sparkford, Somerset. The restaurant is run by husband-and-wife team Jules and Steve Horrell, who previously ran the highly regarded Roth Bar & Grill in Bruton. Having worked together for 15 years, Horrell & Horrell is their first solo restaurant, built on the fantastic reputation the duo have built for hospitality and innovative events.
Horrell & Horrell spans over 6 and a half acres encompassing a diverse kitchen garden, fruit and nut trees, edible hedging and a small flock of lambs; the restaurant barn celebrates its Somerset location using produce gathered on site as well as produce from local bakeries, gardeners and farms. The pair forage and grow much of their own produce for the restaurant - Jules collects herbs and vegetables from the kitchen garden, whilst Steve works in the outdoor kitchen, cooking over fire and combining traditional methods with modern technique. Even flowers from the cutting patch and meadow are harvested daily and used to create delicate table displays.
Horrell & Horrell's rustic, open fronted barn also doubles as Jules and Steve’s home, and the experience is designed to be dinner party-like, with dishes coming straight from the outdoor kitchen where Steve mans an open-fire barbecue. Dishes include sweet onion and rosemary focaccia baked in a wood oven, garden fritto with basil mayonnaise, short rib with carrots and horseradish, and Basque cheesecake with garden berries. The restaurant doesn't provide drinks so you are welcome to bring your own (the team can provide glassware and ice though).
The barn is also available as private hire for lunch and dinner or to rent for exclusive events if you are interested in hosting a party or celebrating a special occasion!
