Hokus Pokus Alchemy Bar is a contemporary and modern underground bar located in Kings Cross, London. It is an ideal place to enjoy post-work drinks or a late night cocktail, with a large bar area, bar stools, sofas and tables. The interior has been designed by British artist and designer Henry Chebanne, who has created a retro-style apothecary inspired by Victorian science.
Hokus Pokus is conveniently located close to many popular destinations such as Covent Garden and St Pancras International. The menu is largely focused on botanical cocktails, inspired by the Victorian quack doctor James Morisson who opened the British college of Health in 1828 just a few doors down from where the Hokus Pokus Alchemy Bar is now.
Hokus Pokus is also a great venue to enjoy live music, with many resident and guest artists playing a mix of music throughout the week. The venue is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm until late, hours may differ especially during holidays and festive periods. Keep an eye out for festive speciality drinks.
If you’re visiting Hokus Pokus for a post work-cocktail you will find plenty of unique and tempting sounding creations on the menu including the ‘Shroom Boom’ which is made with blanc vermouth infused with porcini mushrooms, and the ‘Hokus without pokus’ which is made with Hendricks gin, cucumber, jasmine tea and lemon. Cocktails are served distilled, served at room temperature or with a large lump of ice.
Hokus Pokus is located within reach of many good restaurants, shops and visitor attractions. It is a short walk from The British Museum and the British Library, as well as being a short distance from Westminster and Buckingham Palace.
