Situated right in the heart of London, Harrild & Sons is a contemporary British pub, bar and kitchen that serves up modern British pub food alongside beers on draught, wines and cocktails. The building itself is impressive too - this Grade-II listed former printing press is immediately noticeable on bustling Farringdon Street, and the large bar area and beer garden proves extremely popular with after-work drinkers and parties alike.
Walk inside and you'll find a grand, bright, airy restaurant and bar, with high ceilings and ample floor space. Hardwood floors, brick walls and leather banquettes give Harrild & Sons a cosy atmosphere, and there's plenty of light thanks to a large skylight at one end of the restaurant. A long bar forms the centrepiece of the room, and is well-stocked with draft beers, wines and spirits, particularly whiskies, of which Harrild & Sons boasts a global collection.
The menu, meanwhile, takes inspiration from far and wide. Guests can nibble on snacks and small plates, or have something approaching a more traditional pub main course. The former includes dishes like chorizo Scotch egg, halloumi fries with honey and pomegranate, and potted shrimp with lemon butter and sourdough. Main courses are more substantial and stick to tried and tested pub classics - there's a cheeseburger, for example, as well as fish and chips, a flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce, and pan-fried gnocchi with pesto. For dessert, get stuck into a warm bowl of apple and cinnamon crumble, or a sticky toffee pudding.
That's not all - Harrild & Sons specialises in cocktails too! Alongside classics like espresso martinis, negronis and mojitos, mixologists here also whip up some signature specials, like the Rhubarb Cosmo, made with vodka, rhubarb syrup, Cointreau, cranberry and lime juice.
