This sprawling building on a quiet side street at the back of Bath’s famous Jolly’s department store used to be a Bonham’s auction rooms. Spread over four floors with a wonderful terrace boasting
stunning views across the city’s rooftops, it is the first mega-pub/restaurant from Dorset brewing family Hall & Woodhouse. Needless to say, the brewery’s flagship Badger cask ales are on tap
in the bar, parts of which are styled on an old school common room with antique bookcases stuffed with vintage copies of the Wisden cricket bible and leather rugby balls. Food is served throughout,
with more formal dining offered in the upstairs restaurant. Enjoy one of 20-plus wines by the glass with dishes such as chicken and ham hock pie or a veggie-friendly falafel and haloumi burger.
