For 24 long years, Hush was a townhouse brasserie and bar in Mayfair famed for its gorgeous interiors, glamorous vibe and, occasionally, A-list clientele. It's since fled the nest and moved to another site in Holborn, where it's taken over its sister restaurant Hache. Located just a stone’s throw from Covent Garden and London’s legal district, this central spot is perfect for everything from special dinners to a quick pre-theatre meal.
Hush comprises a light-filled brasserie serving Modern European dishes, alongside a cosy lounge area ideal for after work drinks or a late-night tipple. It certainly hasn’t lost any of its glitz and glamour in the move, with stunning vintage interiors featuring studded banquet seating, wood-panelled walls and a large bar along one side of the dining room.
The menu features classic brasserie dishes with a focus on luxurious ingredients and beautiful presentation. Hush is perhaps most famous for its iconic ‘Parmesan Wheel’, which sees Italian favourite cacio e pepe served tableside in a giant cheese wheel.
Starters and small plates span tuna tartare with ponzu and avocado, to a classic prawn cocktail with Marie Rose sauce. Further down the list you can expect to find a selection of mains and grills, from rib eye with peppercorn sauce and fries to chicken Milanese with a fried egg and truffle.
Guests can also choose from a selection of signature ‘Hache burgers’ on the menu, including the Steak Truffle Fume featuring truffle aioli, gruyere, cornichons, red onions, smoked bacon and truffle dust. To finish, the Mars Bar Cheesecake is not to be missed.
Cocktails also play a starring role at Hush and include an ever-changing list of seasonal specials, along with all the classics. Elsewhere, diners can choose from an extensive wine list featuring labels from across the globe.
